Google is developing a smart home hub that can act as an app for any of its devices.
With a “smart hub,” you can create a hub with all the devices in your home, including cameras, lighting, thermostats, and even smart appliances.
This means your home will be more connected to your home and more connected than ever before.
The company announced today it has signed a contract with US-based home-equity company Rethink, to develop a smart hub for the HomeKit platform.
It’s a big deal for Google, which is working to build an ecosystem of connected devices and apps.
HomeKit, which will become the dominant platform for smart home devices in the coming years, has been widely anticipated.
Google’s partnership with Rethank means the company is working with developers to provide a unified home-security and smart-app ecosystem that works across a wide range of devices.
HomeKit and other devices that connect to it will have an integrated system to store and manage data.
“With HomeKit and connected devices like Google Home, there’s a wealth of opportunity for companies to connect their devices and applications together to make it easier to manage, customize, and extend their home and work environments,” Google said in a statement.
“Today’s announcement means we can deliver more of the same, but with a smart ecosystem that allows developers to create a unified app for all of their connected devices.”
Google has been a long-time proponent of the HomePod platform.
It has also worked with companies to bring its Nest thermostat to the Nest platform.
Google’s Home Hub will be able to work with Nest’s Nest Cam app, as well as other Nest devices, including Google Home.
