An article on the New York Times website this week reported that the average Israeli tech job is worth more than $1 million.
That’s almost double the median salary in the United States, which is $68,000.
According to the report, tech workers are “almost entirely paid by companies in Israel, and most of those workers are not even employed in the country, but rather in Israeli technology.”
According to this report, the average tech job costs roughly $15,000 to $25,000 per year, which means that the typical tech worker in Israel earns between $18,000 and $25-30,000 annually.
According to the New Yorker, the median income for Israelis is $72,000, so that’s the median pay for the average startup in Israel.
The Times article further reported that, according to Israel’s Bureau of Statistics, the total Israeli population in 2013 was 7.3 million, a population that is the largest in the region.
According the report from the Times, the number of people working in tech in Israel is up from 6.3 percent in 2013 to 9.4 percent in 2019.
The article also reported that Israeli tech companies have experienced “the biggest spike in job growth in recent years.”
According to these numbers, the percentage of tech workers who are full-time is up to 57.6 percent from 39.3 in 2013.
The median hourly pay for a full-timer worker in the technology industry in Israel increased from $30.90 to $47.10 in 2019, the report added.
The New York Post also reported on Thursday that the total number of jobs in the Israeli tech industry increased from 2,639 in 2017 to 3,856 in 2019 to about 5.7 million, according the Ministry of Labor.
